The horoscope is a combination of 9 Planets, 27 Nakshatras, 12 signs, and 12 houses. Our Vedic astrology is inconceivable without Nava Grahas or Nine Planets. They enumerate the Karmas with which a person is born and foretell how somebody will steer his life’s path in the existing birth. As per Vedas also through Karma corrections or Puja or Anushthans, you can reap an abundance of happiness in life.
|| “Adityaya Somaya Mangalaya Bhudayacha
Guru Shukra Shanibhyascha Rahave Ketave Namaha” ||
Through this mantra seek blessings of all the nine planets for the completion of any task
The nine planets as per astrology are the Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangala), Mercury (Budha), Jupiter (Brihaspati), Venus (Shukra), Saturn (Shani), Rahu (north node of the moon), and Ketu (south node of the moon). Our Vedic astrology includes Rahu and Ketu the two opposite north and south lunar nodes.
Every planet has its own Mantra which should be chanted to mitigate its negative impact and increase benefic effects. It is solely dependent on the planet's position and its relation with other planets in the horoscope

On the other hand, the 12 houses also have a significant role to understand any horoscope. They are called ‘Bhava’ or ‘Purusharthas’ meaning the purpose or aim which drives your life.
The four Bhavas
Dharma (Duty), Artha (Resources), Kama (Pleasure) and Moksha (Liberation).
It is basically the guiding force in life, because of the houses laid at the time of birth individuals pursue different objectives or goals in life. Some aspire to materialism while some people naturally get on to the path of moksha or liberation.
Simple donations as per ruling planet bring the positive Life-changing impact
Vedic astrology recommends many remedial measures to minimize the impact of any foreseen negative situation. Amongst many suggestions, the Donation is regarded as the utmost means to reduce the negative effect of any planet during your life course.
Donations could be done on special dats like on birthdays, Amavasya, Ekadashi, and Purnima. They can also be done according to the days of the week. On occasions like Makar Sankranti donations are done for good health, prosperity and happiness in life. Our Vedas say, ideally everyone should donate because it helps to eradicate many other problems in life.
We can do simple donations as per the rising planet in the horoscope. The planet which is closest to your Ascendant in the horoscope or in the first, second, or third houses, is considered the rising planet.
Sun
Sun is responsible for ambition, leadership, ego, power, and governance in your life. It signifies a Father, a Husband and a Son. One of the biggest remedies to curtail the adverse effects of the Sun is to annihilate the Ego from our lives.
Those ruled by Sun can make simple donations preferably on Sunday like Red Flowers, Red Clothes, Wheat, Jaggery, Bel fruit, and Copper.
Moon
Moon is known as the feminine planet. It indicates nurturing essence, water, feminine energy, spirituality, emotions, mind, mother and comfort.
I read somewhere that “Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears are the thoughts of your Moon’s nature”.
The longitude of the Moon helps in calculating Dasha balance in a horoscope.
Natives belonging to Moon should donate on Monday these simple household items like Milk, Mishri, Curd, White clothes, Pearls, Silver, and Rice.
Mars - Mangal
It is a fiery red planet of energy, action and aggression. It can make us impulsive, over-aggressive and impatient. It rules areas which involve physical activity like Sports, adventure and physical pleasures. If Mars is your malefic planet and is a rising planet then beware it can create havoc.
Donate on Tuesdays Red cloth, Ghee, Copper vessel, Sesame seeds, Red flowers, Red sandalwood, Jaggery, and whole masoor dal.
Mercury (Budha)
Mercury is the closest planet to Sun and it doesn't get affected or ignited by Sun. Mercury signifies intellect and communication skills. It significantly contributes to the success of attaining goals in life. A well-placed Mercury bestows a fulfilling life to the native.
Those afflicted by Mercury may suffer nerve/nervous disorders. They should avoid any indulgence in alcoholism and drugs as it directly affects the nervous system.
Individuals with Mercury as their rising planet should make donations on Wednesdays like Green clothes, Plants, Trees, Green vegetables, and Whole green moong.
Jupiter (Brihaspati)
It signifies ‘Guru’ a teacher. Jupiter represents qualities like knowledge, wisdom, generosity, expansion, healing, and desires. Jupiter is about spreading wisdom and encouraging others or creating a positive impact in society.
So to enhance the power of Jupiter or to mitigate its malefic effects knowledge and skills should be Shared. For example, we can share our knowledge and skills with our subordinates or juniors or enthusiast learners. Helping stray animals or feeding them also boosts Jupiter in our horoscope.
Abstaining from the consumption of Meat and Alcohol too is regarded as an effective remedy in making Jupiter favourable.
Donate on Thursday basic household items like Turmeric, Yellow cloth, Jaggery, Books, Yellow ladoos, and Chana daal.
Venus - Shukra
There is one very interesting Vedic story attached to the name Shukra or Venus. In Hindu, Puranas Shukra is one of the sons of Bhrigu also referred to as Shukracharya or Asuracharya. He was the guru of Demons or Asuras. The Planet represents luxuries, materialistic comfort, passion, spouse, beauty, happiness and love. Shukracharaya (Shukra/Venus) was the only person who obtained the knowledge of Mrit Sanjeevani vidya (Knowledge about making a dead person alive) from Lord Shiva. The Maha Mantra is a combination of the Gayatri Mantra and the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.
To reduce the malefic effects of Venus one should maintain personal Hygiene, keep the house, office and surroundings clean, and stay away from over-indulgence in luxuries, alcohol and pleasures. Natives with Venus as a rising planet must ensure that they don't disrespect or hurt any women.
Donate white colour sweets made of milk, white clothes, Curd, Rice, pearl, silver, sugar, and ghee. It will be fruitful if such donations are made on Fridays.
Saturn (Shani)
It is the Lord of Karma no doubt it is one of the most dreaded planets. But Saturn never denies or it never takes back if it gives anything. Unlike what is believed, it is not always bad or malefic. Saturn is the disciple of Lord Shiva. Largely represents the lower class, labour class, masses, politics, and people’s leaders.
The best remedy to please Saturn is to abstain from eating non-veg or killing innocent for food. Be polite to subordinates or people from lower strata of society like maids, drivers, and guards. Helping those who need our help, refrain from making money from wrongdoings or against moralistic grounds.
Saturn is a planet of- Discipline, Determination, Hard work, Time management, Family values, and Respect. It acts according to your Karma and ensures you realise your mistakes.
One should donate on Saturdays things like Mustard oil, Iron items, Money, Black cloth, Blanket, Perfume, Whole urad dal, and chappatis.
Rahu and Ketu
They are the two opposite points where the Moon and Earth’s orbits intersect. They are placed absolutely opposite in the horoscope. Rahu is the North, and Ketu is the south node of the Moon. And very much like its position, they are contradictory in nature as Rahu is ambitious, and materialistic while Ketu takes you to the spiritual path. They both are enemies of the Sun and Moon. Rahu and Ketu are often called “shadow planets”.
To safeguard yourself from the Rahu evil effects respect your Guru, as Jupiter is the only planet that can control Rahu. And Jupiter represents a Guru or a teacher.
And one of the best remedies to protect against the inauspicious Ketu is to feed the dog every day or keep a dog at home.
Natives with Rahu as a rising planet, it will help if they make donations on Saturday. They can donate simple things like Blue and Black clothes, Mustard, Sandalwood, Sesame seeds, Blankets, and 7 grains (barley, sesame, rice, whole mustard, kanguni, gram, and wheat).
And to pacify Ketu planet donate on Tuesday or early Sunday morning sesame seeds, silver, chappatis without ghee, blue-grey coloured cloth, seven-grain, coconut oil, blanket, knife, sugar, food to dogs, urad daal, warm clothes, iron, umbrella, blanket, and Offer sweet curd and halwa to girls
Besides repelling the ill effects of the planet, Donations add good karmas to your Karmic world. Probably following such simple donations will make us a better version of ourselves and enable us to live a fulfilling life.
As quoted in Bhagwat Gita chapter 17, verse 20
“Charity given to a worthy person at the proper time and in the proper place because he is worthy of it, without considering that he may not be able to return, is said to be in the path of goodness.”
