British Cosmologist, Stephen William Hawking was born on 8th January 1942 to Frank and Isobel Hawking. It is said that he was born precisely, 300 years after an even popular and an infamous poly math Italian, Mathematician, natural philosopher. He attended University College, Oxford, where he studied physics, despite his father's urging to focus on medicine. Hawking went on to Cambridge to research cosmology, the study of the universe as a whole.

Physically being challenged:

In the year 1963, just shy of his 21st birthday he was diagnosed with a motor neuron disease more commonly called Lou Gehrig's disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This disease confined him to a wheel chair and gradually paralysed him over the years. Even he was not expected to live more than two years. Yet he defied all norms and completed his PhD, and paved new ways, in the understanding of Universe. Personal life Challenge: Just before his Diagnosis he met Jane Wilde. But they got married in the year 1965. They split in the year 1995.Stephen Hawking married Elaine Mason his nurse and care- giver, in the year 1996. Then he divorced her too in year 2006. And was close again his first wife children and grandchildren.

Anti Religion:

A self confessed atheist said that he did not believe in religion and religious activities. He believed that the universe was governed by laws of science and everything has logic behind it. He often said that, There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority, [and] science, observation and reason. Science will win because it works. He said The belief that heaven or an afterlife awaits us is a "fairy story" for people afraid of death. He compared his brain to a computer and said that computers do not get havens when they stop working, also life after death is a fairy tale told to people after dark.

Stephen Hawking was a man of brilliance. He had many achievements at a very young age. His biggest achievement was not to bow down to the disease that he had, rather than fight it. And his many accolades include: Research Fellow: Furthermore, Hawking continued to work and lecture at Cambridge after his graduation, serving as a research fellow. Furthermore, in the year 1974 he was introduced, into the Royal Society, which is a worldwide fellowship for Scientists.

Lucasian:

In the year 1979, he was appointed as the Lucasian professor of Mathematics at Cambridge. this is considered as the most famous academic chair in the world. The first holder of the same was Sir Isaac Newton, who was also a member of Royal Society.

Unification with other Scientist:

Studying basic laws of the universe was his course of career. He believed that since universe said to have a beginning the big Bang it will also have an end. Working with his fellow cosmologist Roger Penrose, he revealed that Albert Einsteins theory of general relativity. He suggested that space and time of universe began at the very inception of universe or big bang.And will end in Black holes, hence uniting the Einsteins theory of Quantum Physics.

Death of Stephen Hawking:

It is said that he died at the wee hours of 14th march 2018, in his sleep and peacefully at this Cambridge home. His death has left a void not only in scientific world but for general public and young want to be Stephen Hawkings. A void that, cannot be filled with anyone else.
