Women's Day started off to recognise Gender inequality, Feminism, Stereotype expectations, Discrimination against women in our society. However, we have traversed along with these words for centuries now. And today I can proudly talk about so many Women's achievements. Yes! Women’s Day should be celebrated not only for her evergoing liberation fight but also for her Achievements, Beauty and Grace. And above all her unflinching command over whatever she does in life. We have seen our Moms, Grandmoms, 24x7 all days taking full control of the house and the happiness of the entire family. Which in itself is a mammoth task, I’ am sure many would agree. Probably because of this characteristic inside us, we are able to excel gracefully in our respective fields.
On this Women's day, I want to highlight the achievements of two successful women
Nirmala Sitharaman
She is an Economist, Political and Social Worker Nirmala Sitharaman was amongst the World's 100 most influential ladies in Forbes 2021 Magazine Currently, She is an Indian financial expert and lawmaker serving as the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs of India. Before this, she was selected as Defence Minister and thereby became the second lady after Indira Gandhi to hold such a crucial post. Nirmala Sitharaman joined Bharatiya Janata Party in 2006 and after four years she became the party’s national spokesperson. Before her interface with the government, Sitharaman held jobs at the U.K.- based Agricultural Engineers Association and BBC World Service. She was also a member of the ‘National Commission for Women’. Nirmala Sitharaman has held highly important roles all her professional life.
She has taken two very critical decisions in her career
- She refused to make changes to the taxation waiver for those earning Rs 5 lac instead she increased the surcharge for those over Rs 2 crore.
- And secondly, while she was serving as Defence Minister the Balakot Air Strike was carried out by the Indian Air Force.
She has proven many times her firefighting spirit in public as well as in Parliament. Along with these roles, she is also a Mother and a Wife. This Women's Day Let's Celebrate the truly Inspiring Journey of a woman who gracefully carried together an eminent public position and her family.
Falguni Nayar, a well-deserved woman, we must take inspiration from her exceptional achievements on Women's Day
Self-Made Business Women in India amongst 20 richest people in the country Falguni Nayar is the CEO of the magnificent retail organization Nykaa. She joined Kotak Mahindra Group, after her post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, which she left in the year 2012. And today her daughter and Son are working with her to accomplish her dream. What a remarkable rising journey she undertook at the age when many people start saving for retirement. She is a live example of those breaking stereotypes. Eventually, because of her Grit and strength of will, she acquired what she deserved. We must celebrate this spirit on Women's Day
This Women’s day for a change come together to celebrate the exemplary Women's achievements
Lets Smile, praise and pat ourselves and our fellow partner men For building together a conducive work environment, all the attempts made to elevate women's presence in unimaginable fields like Business, politics, creativity and technology and genuinely honouring them their well-deserved opportunity and awards I came across an apt punch line of an International manufacturer that promotes gender equality in their workforce “They run so life can leap forward. And in order to leap forward, they must run together.” This has always been true, both men and women can grow multifold together. They can take the world to a more sustainable better place to thrive.
Women's power as per our Vedas
How can we forget the earliest mention of Women's power in Markandeya Purana by Ved Vyas? The illustrative series of the Demon massacre, carried out by Ma Durga. These stories are known as Durga Saptshati. In our Vedas Women's strength was synonymous with , , or Power, Knowledge, Prosperity. They were worshipped as Goddess of strength -Ma Durga, Goddess of Knowledge -Ma Saraswati, Goddess of Prosperity-Ma Lakshmi.
The power to create, cherish and prosper with grace they always had, have and will always be in them.
These are a Few selective titles referred to her as per Vedas
It is also mentioned in our ancient Vedas that “Where women are worshipped, there the gods dwell. Or where the women are happy, there will be prosperity.” During Vedic times there may not be a Women's Day but they were regarded with high esteem in the society. This will surely compel you to reconsider your perspective on Women’s prominence in our current society.
