About Ramanuja Jayanti
Sri Ramanuja Acharya Jayanti or Ramanuja is celebrated as a respect to the South Indian philosopher Ramanuja Acharya. Ramanuja was the person who promoted that worshipping Lord Vishnu is the pre-eminent, feasible and the suitable method of attaining salvation (Moksha).
Ramanuja Acharya Jayanti falls in month of Chaitra and it usually falls on Thiruvathirai Nakshatra.
Ramanuja Acharya was said to be the most knowledgeable and learned Acharya who supported the philosophy and ethics of Vaishnavism. The Acharya was born in 1017 CE at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. His birth name was Ilaya Perumal and the revered Acharya continued to spread the light of vision throughout his life.
